Study of diverse native/immigrant Texas Indian lifeways/cultures from late pre-European to contemporary times; exploration of historical underpinnings, traditional cultures, especially land-use patterns; assessment of tribal relationships with colonial powers, U.S., and Texas governments as evidenced in ethnographic, ethnohistoric, and historical materials; application toward anthropological, archaeological, and human ecology research. Prerequisite: Junior or senior classification; ANTH 201; and ANTH 301 or 302 or 303 or HIST 258; or HIST 308 or approval of instructor.
