Focuses on health promotion in the context of the family including post-partum and the newborn. Focuses on management of care for clients with post-partum complications and high-risk newborns. Integrates concepts of health promotion, disease prevention, pharmacological and therapeutic interventions. Prerequisite: Completion with a grade of C or better in NIP 110 and NIP 115 and FHM 100 and AHS 100. Students must have Basic Life Support certification, current liability insurance coverage and current immunizations for the duration of the course. Prerequisite or corequisite: NIP125 and NIP130 and NIP 1201 and NIP1202. Lecture: 0.67 credit (10 contact hours); Laboratory/Clinical: 0.33 (15 contact hours).
