Focuses on health promotion in the context of the family including reproductive issues and pregnancy. Focuses on management of care for clients with prenatal complications and high-risk pregnancies. Integrates concepts of health promotion, disease prevention, pharmacological and therapeutic interventions. Prerequisite: Completion with a grade of C or better in NIP 110 and NIP 115 and FHM 100 and AHS 100. Students must have Basic Life Support certification, current liability insurance coverage and current immunizations for the duration of the course. Corequisite: NIP 1202 and NIP 1203. Prerequisite or corequisite: NIP 125 and NIP 130. Lecture: 0.67 credit (10 contact hours); Laboratory/Clinical: 0.33 credit (15 contact hours).
