Familiarizes the student with the clinical laboratory environment and performance of basic front office duties. Upon completion, the student should demonstrate entry level clinical laboratory technician (CLT) skills in the areas of phlebotomy, hematology, microbiology, chemistry, serology, urinalysis, and immunohematology in point of care, CLIA waived, and moderate complexity laboratory testing. Prerequisite: Admission into the CLT program or permission of the CLT Program Director/CLT Clinical Coordinator. Clinical: 4 credits (240 contact hours). (60:1 ratio).
