Introduces specimen processing as it relates to the microbiology department in the clinical laboratory. Discusses the practical importance of identifying microorganisms through morphology on culture media, appearance on gram stain, and biochemical reactions. Lecture: 1 credit; Laboratory: 1 credit (45 contact hours). Prereq: Admission into the CLT program OR permission of the CLT Program Director/CLT Clinical Coordinator
