This course examines the literary masterpieces of the non-English speaking western world. The learner will become acquainted with a number of writers from the European continent. The course will take a thematic approach, in which learners will read literature in the genres of short stories, poetry, drama, and epics. The learner will infer qualities which make literature great regardless of the language of its original authorship.
