This course examines rural and small community life, its value systems, strengths and capacities, custums, political and economic structures and their implications for the lives of people in rural settings and for generalist social work practice. Special attention is given to differences in intervention and service provision in rural areas, particularly in rural, remote and Alaska Native communities.
