Description:
This graduate course will provide best practice information and strategies for working with students at-risk in non-traditional educational settings. This class will consist of a total of five on-campus meetings (July 11 and 18 from 4:30-6:30pm and July 19 and 20th for two hours immediately following the alternative strategies conference in Perkins Room 211 (approximately 4:30-6:30pm), and July 21 for four hours immediately following the alternative strategies conference in Perkins 211 (approximately 1-5pm)) with assigned outside projects combined with a partially web-based instruction format. In addition to the course meetings above, all who register will be required to attend all sessions of the “Alternative Strategies for Educating Students at-Risk” conference July 19, 20 and 21 at Eastern Kentucky University.  Students will be required to complete assignments prior to the first course meeting date. Mixed web & on campus course will be charged on campus rate.
