Emphasizes the development of the nurse as a provider of care, manager of care, and member of the nursing profession. Provides for the application of critical thinking skills in the care of diverse clients/families across the lifespan with actual or potential alteration in health due to complex acute and chronic health problems. Includes an integrated practicum with an emphasis on leadership, management clinical decision-making, collaboration, knowledge, judgment, skills, and professional values within the legal/ethical framework to facilitate the transition of the student to Registered Nurse practice. Prerequisite: (NSG 236 and NSG 226) with a grade of C or better. Prerequisite or Corequisite: Heritage/Humanities/Foreign Language course. Lecture: 5 credits (75 contact hours). Laboratory/Clinical: 4 credits (80 contact hours, 45:1 ratio).
