Covers interactions of ionizing radiation with human tissues, its potential effects, dosimetry and its relation to exposure. Covers radiation protection principles, applications and NRC regulations. Prerequisite: Admission to NMMI program; MT 150 or MA 109; BIO 137 and BIO 139; or consent of instructor. Corequisite: (NMMI 140 and NMMI 141 and NMMI 150) or consent of instructor. Prerequisite or corequisite: CHE 104 and either PH 171 or PH 172. Laboratory, Lecture: 1 credit (15 contact hours).
