An introduction to the acting process through exercises scene work and monologue work, improvisation, lecture, play analysis and attendance at live performances. Open to all University majors. Recommended for Dance majors. Course Objectives (1) Possess an awareness of the actor's process in bringing imaginary situations and characters to life. (2) Understand basic theatre terminology. (3) Analyze a dramatic text from an actor's point of view. (4) Utilize imagination, concentration, and creativity with increasing confidence. (5) Use voice and body to communicate ideas. (6) Work in a collaborative way.
