SAEM 101 functions as an introduction to business basics (emphasis on entrepreneurial skills) within the context of the Sports, Arts and Entertainment industry. Students will receive an opportunity for experiential learning through a SAEM live event assignment and shadowing exercise. Course Objectives Upon completion of this course students will learn how to: (1)Construct and apply a postive and professional online presence (personal brand) in a shadowing experience and subsequent presentation. (2) Demonstrate a basic knowledge of the business world and how it applies to sport, art, and entertainment businesses. (3) Created and effectively communicate presentations both orally and in writing. (4) Recognize corporate social responsibilites and ethical issues faced in sports, arts and entertainment management.
