The function of language in the formation of the subject and in the "talking cure" of modern psychodynamic therapies. Dual listed as PSYC 332. Prerequisites: ENGL 250 or ENGL 251; PSYC 203. Course Objectives (1) Foster understanding and fluency in the discourse concerning the conditions of Human Existence from Religious, Psychological, Philosophical, and Socio-Economic perspectives (2) Discuss, interpret, and write about major religious, sociological, and psychological schools which attempt to explicate, understand and analyze Human Life (3) Exercise critical thinking concerning theories of Human Nature and Human Values
