Provides students with an introduction to broad areas of linguistic theory and inquiry, including an introduction to the study of morphology, semantics, syntax, phonetics, phonology, and historical linguistics. It also includes an introduction to areas included within the disciplines of psycholinguistics and sociolinguistics. Dual-listed as MLNG 302. Prerequisite: ENGL 250+.
