Examines the fundamental changes affecting the world that are impacting institutions and attitudes toward more sustainable natural resource management. Problems with the depletion of the ozone layer, global warming, deforestation, species decimation, coastal erosion, wetlands protection, acid rain, water pollution, solid and hazardous waste disposal, toxic air emissions, and other environmental problems of similar magintude require changes in the industry. Case study analysis and problem solving. Taught at CATIE in Costa Rica.
