An advanced study of gender and sexuality as it has been figured throughout the history of the American horror film, drawing on genre theory, psychoanalysis, feminism, and queer theory. Explores the cultural context of historical and contemporary images, charing their change vis-a-vis major historical events such as World War II, the Sexual Revolution, and the AIDS crisis.
