5220. Post War European Film. 3 hours. Examines three major film movements that developed in Europe after WWII : Italian Neorealism, The French New Wave, and British New Wave. Identifies the historical and cultural influences behind these film movements and explores the aesthetics of each movement and how these aesthetics reflect the philosophical and / or political ideals of the filmmakers. (Meets with RTVF 4220). Prerequisite(s) : RTVF MA, MS, or MFA status or consent of department.
