4445. Media in the 21st Century. 3 hours. Examines the concept of human communication, broadcast communication, media consumption, media and news in the 21st century, including global media styles, propaganda, and blogging. Also an analysis of how widespread mistrust of the media influences the manner in which journalists do their jobs, with a focus on First Amendment rights, freedom of information and access to government and business. Prerequisite(s) : RTVF / JOUR major status.
