Combine didactic instruction with applied intervention and supervision. The focus will be on the application of principles of psychological counseling to facilitate constructive changes in the couple and family systems. Students will conduct couple / family assessments and therapy, and recieve ongoing weekly supervision. Prerequisite(s): PSYC 6150 or the equivalent, or consent of the instructor.6160. Marriage and Family Therapy II. 3 hours. Approaches to the resolution of emotional disturbances of family life. Emphasis on the analysis of the family as a behavioral system and the application of the principles of psychological counseling to facilitate constructive changes in the family system. Prerequisite(s): consent of department.
