4220. Fundamentals of Singing-Acting Techniques. 1 hour (1;2). An introductory course to the process of singing-acting which clearly identifies all the parts of the total performing system--mind, emotions, body, face, and voice--and presents a way of developing the power of each of those parts separately, and then integrating them in various combinations. Experiential learning course in which the student will apply the techniques to his / her individual operatic repertoire or to assigned scenes from opera. Prerequisite(s) : Students must have passed the Upper Division Exam in voice, have studied at least two semesters with current voice teacher, have permission from voice teacher, and have at least two operatic arias in repertoire.
