3495. Nursing Advanced Summer Training. 4 hours. Seven-week off-campus internship at a major U.S. Army hospital for ROTC nursing students. A nursing practicum with the focus on providing the student with hands-on experience which integrates clinical, interpersonal, and leadership knowledge and skills. Practical experience and familarization with Army nursing in a variety of clinical tasks in the areas of medical-surgical nursing, pediatrics, obstetrics, and, in some cases, intensive care in ICUs. May be used for partial credit for NURS 3647 or MURS 3347 with prior arrangement and approval of the Dean of Nursing. Prerequisite: completion of the junior year of a baccalaureate nursing program and permission of the PMS (Professor of Military Science).
