5370. Distributed & Parallel Database Systems. 3 hours. This course consists of two parts : distributed database systems and parallel database systems. This course provides fundamental and advanced concepts and techniques of these systems which have become important issues in not only the academia but in industries for study and development of large scale database systems. This course also prepares the students for research in the area of database systems. In addition to lectures which provide a borad base for understanding strategic concepts and technologies, each student will perform a study on specific topics of his / her choice. Prerequisite(s) : CSCE 4350 or equivalent.
