Beginning with the peopling of the Americas and concluding with a review of current issues and politics, students will explore the dominant culture groups that have comprised this region, and specific issues of colonialism, imperialism, neo-colonialism, syncretized Catholicism, peasant rebellions, migration, and globalization.
