This social work elective is designed to provide students with the knowledge base necessary for work with children/families and professionals in a multitude of human service settings. The content of this course will enhance the knowledge, values, and skills obtained in an undergraduate curriculum. Topics include the functions of a Human Service Worker, Child Protective Services, Education, Juvenile Justice, Community Agencies, Law Enforcement, Legal/Judicial, Medical, and presentation on other areas such as advocacy, client relationships and community-based agencies.
