Ceramics II. Three semester hours (3 lec/ 3 lab). This course offers further exposure to ceramic forming processes; surface treatment; and firing processes, including oxidation, reduction, raku, soda, and wood. Increased attention will be given to the conceptual and aesthetic aspects of ceramics and the development of an expressive, individual direction. Increased emphasis on critical research in contemporary and historical ceramics. May be taken up to 9 sch for credit. Prerequisites: ART 250%
