The Earth is discussed as a system with feedbacks, interrelationships, cycles and flows that is undergoing natural and human-induced changes. Topics include basic ecology and biogeochemistry, natural hazards, resources the environment provides to humans, and current environmental issues. Uses Alaskan, Arctic and other regional examples.
