In-depth examination of the complex interrelationships of gender, science, technology, and society in a number of different contexts. Looks at the participation of women in scientific and technical fields both historically and cross-culturally, and addresses such topics as: gender segregation by status and discipline, feminist theories of gender and science, the conditions under which women have succeeded in the sciences, gender and biological determinism.
