Assesses the impact of globalization on the earth¿s environment. Examines such issues as biodiversity loss to pollution to urbanization to climate change, among others, and assess how globalization has driven, impacted or improved these environmental problems. Emphasis on understanding the social, political and economic factors that have contributed to global environmental change and the degree to which globalization processes are something `new¿, as well as on examining the ability of communities, nations and transnational institutions to manage these global problems.
