An investigation of the Spanish American novel of the 19th and 20th centuries. Students will become knowledgeable of the literary currents associated with the genre within their historical and social contexts; become aware of the key elements of the novel; develop the ability to analyze the key elements, identify literary techniques and devices, and develop the ability to articulate the findings of his/her own analysis and criticism.
