This is a first course in algebra designed to prepare students for Intermediate Algebra (Math 0422). Topics include review of arithmetic and algebra of real numbers, sets, linear equations, linear inequalities, absolute value equations and inequalities, linear equations in two variables, graphing linear equations in two variables, integer exponents, adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and factoring polynomials, and applications of these topics.
