Instruction in the making and forming of steel and the classification of steel, cast iron, and aluminum. Topics include mechanical and physical properties, non-destructive testing principles of alloying, selection of metals, iron carbon diagrams, principles of hardening and tempering steel, and the metallurgical aspects of machining.
