Description:
This course is an introduction to the structure, properties, processing, destructive and non-destructive testing, and engineering applications of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastics, polymers, composites and ceramics. The laboratory includes mechanical and physical testing, metallographic procedures, heat treatment, surface treatment and failure analysis. An emphasis is placed on material selection, testing, and validation. Lec 3, Lab 3, Cr 4.
