This course is designed with the goal of developing a more comprehensive understanding of exercise physiology and practical experience with evaluation of equipment and techniques used in the exercise science laboratory and clinic. Emphasis is on instrumentation used in the analysis and measurement of muscular, respiratory, cardiovascular, and nervous system structure and function. In addition, the course provides sections of various biochemical and physiological systems and how they respond to exercise and chronic training. Special reference will be made to the physiology of various types of sports as well as clinical tests and applications.
