An introduction to the fundamentals of electromagnetism. Multipole fields, Laplace and Poisson equations, Maxwell equations, electromagnetic waves, reflection and refraction, spherical scalar waves, interference and diffraction phenomena. Laboratory applications of electromagnetic and optical phenomena. Laboratory fee required: $12. 3 additional laboratory or activity hours per week.
