The morphology, classification, growth, physiology, and genetics of Microorganisms are covered, with emphasis on bacteria. Control of bacterial growth with antibiotics, antiseptics, and disinfectants are also considered. Pathogenesis of disease┐causing bacteria and the role of the immune system in protection from disease are studied. This course satisfies the microbiology requirement for nursing schools.
