Study of plant dynamic modeling (first-and second order, transfer functions, nonlinear characteristics) and simulation, control system configurations (open-loop, closed-loop, combined feedforward/feedback control), types of controllers (analog, PC-based, PLCs), and control modes (on-off, PID, etc.). System designs for dc servo position and speed control, temperature control, lighting control, etc. Laboratory fee required: $12. 1 additional laboratory or activity hour per week.
