Examination of the Earth and earth processes through the application of chemical principles including fractionation and distribution of the elements, the chemical evolution of planetary interiors and interactions between Earthâs lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere. Topics include evaluation of theories and analysis of data relevant to geologic problems facing society such as the search for and utilization of mineral resources and the environmental implications of waste disposal and remediation.
