An introduction to the estate planning process. Emphasis will be on the reduction of the estate tax and wealth preservation. Topics include wills and the probate estate, powers of attorney and health care directives, an overview of the estate and gift tax, the utilization of trusts to minimize the tax and direct the use of assets, the marital exclusion, lifetime giving strateties, and basic estate administration.
