Studies the physical, cognitive and neurological changes that take place during adulthood and in the process of aging and their impact on functional ability and disability. The physiological aging process, as it interacts with gender and socioeconomic class, is examined from a cross-cultural perspective, looking at both industrialized and developing countries.
