Description:
An introduction to the basic principles of scenic design for the theatre including the history of design, research in period and in style as applied to dramaturgy, script analysis, color theory, decoration and an exploration of the conceptual and spatial demands of conventional and non-conventional stages. Practical application of course content including drafting and rendering will be realized through student participation in the mounting of department productions and assigned projects.
