Description:
This course is aimed at mathematics teachers who are interested in enhancing their understanding of basic and advanced topics in geometry. It aims to give teachers a foundation in the fundamental working and structure of the field, both from a historical perspective and through non-Euclidean systems. Students will learn how to use Dynamical Geometry Software. Topics include use of dynamical geometry Software, classical geometry with constructions, axiomatic and proof, Euclidean geometry, historical background of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries, and three-dimensional geometry and spatial reasoning. Prerequisites: undergraduate courses in Calculus 111, Linear Algebra, and Logic or discrete Mathematics.
