This senior seminar looks at "point of view" in historical writing, the multiple "ways of seeing" history, and the various approaches that scholars and writes have employed in order to think and write about the past. The readings that have been selected exemplify the advantages and limitations of the political, economic, social, and cultural perspectives and the interpretive possibilities of narrative, biography, and fiction.
