This core course focuses on understanding individual behavior. Students will learn skills and strategies for de-escalating, resolving, and preventing conflict, aggression, and violence between people within agencies and their programs. Topics include building healthy relationships, proactive interaction, the crisis cycle, effects of trauma, purpose and appropriate use of physical interaction, positive behavior support, the stages of change, behavior support plans, and teaching healthy choices. This course must be completed with a āCā or higher.
