An applied science course involving a study of basic principles of mechanics and applications. Topics include forces, moments, resultants, equivalent force systems, couples, equilibrium, friction, centroids and center of gravity, moments of inertia, kinematics of particles and bodies, Newton¿s Second Law, work/energy methods, and impulse momentum. (Usually offered Spring semester.) Prerequisites /Co-requisites: MAT 111 or higher and TEC 121 (recommended).
