Description:

Families and caregivers of persons with special needs will want to take all steps possible to ensure that the future care and well-being of their family member or other dependent with special needs has been made as secure and comfortable as possible. The law provides us with tools to use in order to accomplish these purposes. Learn about these tools and how they mgiht best serve your situation as we consider the matter from the perspective of the family members' estates and the estate of the person with special needs. Provisions for medical care and the changes to the laws concerning powers of attorney which will become effective in September 2009 will also be discussed. The particular considerations and concerns of the non-traditional family (whatever that may be and if there is such a thing today) and non-traditional relationships (whatever those might be and if there are such relationships today) finding themselves in these situations will also be addressed.
