This course focuses on special care needs and challenges of the special needs individual. Upon completion of the course, the participant will be able to protect the special needs person from losing benefits; be able to write, interpret and use a letter of intent; understand the types of guardianship and be able to explain how guardianship works; understand the life care planning process and options, know about governemnt programs available to individuals with special needs; understand special needs trust accounts; understand how to correctly gift money without losing benefits; and be more effective in coordinating the needs of families and individuals with special needs.
