Participants in this non-credit course will learn about the special needs of this client population, their rates of substance abuse disorders and specialized counseling techniques that can be used to assist these clients. Group treatment approaches will be emphasized. Learning objectives include (1) Participants will have greater awareness of the need for coordination of services and (2) Participants will demonstrate greater comfort in carrying out specialized counseling techniques for this client population.
