Description:
Students at the successful completion of this course will know the OSHA general industry and construction standards, found in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 1910 and 1926. They will be aware of the interrelationship of other governmental agencies and professional organizations that contribute to the occupational safety and health of employees. Students will be able to find and correctly intrepret OSHA regulations using supporting docummentation, and determine the responsibilities of both employers and employees. Record keeping responsibilities will be discussed in detail. Students will also write a program for a performance-based standard that can be used by a company in a practical, economical, and compliant manor. (Usually offered Spring semester.) Prerequisites: AAC 042, ENG 099, MAT 005 or waiver through testing.
