Description:
This course is designed to prepare medical assistant and administrative assistant professional (medical office management focus) students for entry-level positions as medical transcriptionists and/or medical word processors. Students are prepared to transcribe a variety of authentic medical documents within the framework of the major medical specialties through the use of a textbook/tape resource package. Listening, language, and keyboarding skills will be integrated to produce accurate medical documents. (Usually offered Fall semester.) Prerequisites: OFT 121, or permission of the Instructor; OFT 159, and MED 134.
