Certified Nursing Assistant (CNAs) provide basic care of patients under the direction of nursing staff. This CNA program will provide students with the required education and clinical training to achieve New York Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This program will be a total of 140 hours of theory instruction and clinical practicum. There are 90 hours of instruction including topics such as anatomy, physiology, nutrition and proper hygiene. The student will also be required to complete 50 hours of clinical instruction to learn proper health care procedures. Upon completion of the program, students will take the New York State Nuring Home Aide Competency Examination, which includes two tests to evaluate knowledge and skills required to provide safe and competent patient care.
